Intercultura staff

Jessica is originally from the Chicago area in the US.  She studied English Literature and Spanish and began her career as an education testing consultant for Pearson Educational Measurement, she managed scoring contracts for the Florida Department of Education Reading Assessments, and continued teaching ESL as she had since 1997.  Her growing interest in language, travel and culture led her to pursue a teaching degree, licensing her as a K-12 ESL teacher, followed by a Masters degree in English as a Second Language from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN. Jessica taught in public schools in the US, Guatemala, and the Philippines before moving to Costa Rica in 2004, where she joined Intercultura to teach English at both the Heredia and Samara campuses. After building up experience in website design and marketing, Jessica moved into the administration as the Marketing Coordinator for our Spanish Language Program, and continues to teach part-time English classes. In her free time, Jessica enjoys biking, hiking, spending time with friends, following Chicago sports, and is an annual participant in the Clear Lake Water-ski Show.
